JPT Terms & Conditions

          General Conditions:

  1. The Contract will be between JPT Decorators (hereinafter referred to as the ‘Contractor’ and ‘We’) and the ‘Client’ or ‘You’ whose name and address is detailed on the accepted quotation for services provided by the Contractor.

  2. Acceptance by the Client of the Contractor’s Quotation[s] includes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

  3. Quotations shall remain open for acceptance by the Client for a period of 30 days unless otherwise indicated.

 

Client Obligations:

  1. The Client shall ensure that access to the premises and area of the works is cleared of furniture and any other impediments and is available to the Contractor at all working times, generally Monday to Friday unless otherwise agreed and specified.

  2. The Client is responsible for the removal of all personal and valuable items from the area of work prior to the work commencing.

  3. As necessary, and unless otherwise agreed, the Client shall be responsible for notifying occupants that the work is taking place.

  4. The Client shall be responsible for the provision of services and facilities (water, toilets and electricity etc.) for use by the Contractor’s operatives, unless prior specific alternative arrangements are agreed.

  5. We may on occasion request that tools be left on site overnight. The Client reserves the right to decline.

  6. If there are parking restrictions immediately surrounding the site, we may request the temporary use of the customers driveway or parking space if available.

  7. If the removal of radiator or towel rail is required, it is the Clients responsibility to ensure these are removed prior to commencing work. We can not remove any radiators. 

  8. We are not responsible for the performance or suitability of any materials, parts or products purchased directly by the Client unless purchased as per our recommendation. Any paints supplied by the Client will be painted with two coats, unless specified otherwise in the quotation. Any extra coats required will be chargeable on top of the original quotation.

 

 

 

Variations and Changes to Quoted Work:

  1. Requested variations or additions for works not detailed in the accepted Quotations shall be agreed and confirmed in writing, including the basis of the agreed charge. Or if appropriate, subject to a separate quotation for acceptance by the Client.

 

 

Payment:

  1. The Client agrees to pay the Contractor’s quoted price under the agreed terms as specified on the Contract or Quotation.

Standard Payment Terms: Payment immediately on completion of the works.
Any variations to the standard payment terms (including materials or stage payments etc.) will only be if agreed by the Contractor and specified accordingly.

  1. Payment of the Contractor’s invoice must be made using any of the following means: BACS (Bank Transfer), Credit Card, Debit Card or Cash. Cheques will only be accepted by prior agreement and maybe subject to verification at the Contractor’s discretion.

  2. Overdue invoices will, at the discretion of the Contractor, will be charged at the prevailing UK Government recommended rate of interest for overdue accounts.

  3. The Contractor shall retain full title to any goods, materials and equipment supplied until payment of the full invoiced amount is received.

  4. In the event of default by the client in respect of any sums due, the Client will be liable for all costs incurred by the Contractor in recovering the outstanding amount.

  5. A non-refundable deposit of 20% may be required prior to works commencing on any quotations above £1,000.00 or to cover cost of materials not kept in stock. The remaining outstanding balance paid immediately upon completion of works. Any deposit will be detailed in the quotation.

  6. Stage payments are required on any quotations above £1,500.00. Any stage payments will be detailed in our quotation.

 

Cancellation:

  1.  The Client agrees to give a minimum notice of 14 days prior to commencement of work for any cancellations or postponements of works. 

  2. If The Client elects to cancel our services once work has begun on the project as per quotation, the Client agrees to pay a cancellation fee of 50% of the quotation price. 

 

Guarantees and Indemnities:

  1. The Contractor guarantees that it will maintain Public Liability Insurance at all times and provide evidence of such Insurance upon request.

  2. The Contractor guarantees all work, materials and equipment for 1 (one) year from the date of installation, application or use. In the event that a manufacturer or supplier of any equipment provides a guarantee for a period of more than one year, this will be notified to the Client. However, it shall be the Client’s responsibility to enforce the additional guarantee exceeding the statutory first year.

  3. The Contractor shall not be liable under the terms of any guarantee if the failure or defect of the materials or equipment is found to be as a result of misuse or of normal and expected wear and tear.

 

Jurisdiction:

  1. Any contract between the Client and the Contractor shall be covered under the Law of England and Wales.
